THE BEST RICE FOR THE SEASON.

MAMA AKEEM: Mama Julie, good morning.

MAMA JULIE: Ah, mama Akeem, how are you?

Mama Akeem: I am fine, my sister.

Mama Julie: The way you are sounding, I’m afraid, I don’t think you are fine.

Mama Akeem: How? How am I sounding that is giving you that impression?

Mama Julie: Your voice is too low. Is it not you that will talk or laugh and the people in the next street will be asking questions?  Now, your voice is hardly audible.

Mama Akeem: Ah, Mama Julie, you guessed right. Don’t mind me.

Mama Julie: Please, take things easy o. If you think you are going to solve every problem that assails you, you will just break down.

Mama Akeem: It’s like you are in your best elements this morning. You are now an adviser and counsellor, rolled into one. The way you are going, Aso Rock will soon send your name to the Senate!

Mama Julie: Ah, you have started again, Aso Rock ko, Olumo Rock ni. You think it is every Dick and Harry that is qualified to work in or for Aso Rock?

Mama Akeem: Please, Mama Julie, stop this joke, someone is thinking on how to celebrate Christmas and New Year with her family, you are talking about an impossible appointment.

Mama Julie: So, my sister, what are these plans for Christmas and New Year, since you are so worried?

Mama Julie: Does thinking about something means planning?

Mama Akeem: I think both are the same, because when you are thinking, there is also an element of planning.

Mama Julie: But wait my sister, how does one have a good plan for Christmas and New Year when a bag of rice is about Sixty Thousand Naira?

Mama Akeem: Ah, Mama Julie, rice is that thing that is weighing you down? This rice thing sef.My sister, but there are so many varieties in the market, which you can choose from.

Mama Julie: Okay, mention, these varieties.

Mama Akeem: Abakaliki rice, Lake rice, Wasinmi rice, Kebbi rice, Imota rice. My Sister, there are so many of them which are not that expensive.

Mama Julie:  You did not even mention Ofada.

Mama Akeem: Oh, I am coming to that, I deliberately left it out because of its penchant for stones and particles. which they pass to people as rice.

Mama Julie: Mama Akeem, you are funny, stones? Anyway, you may have your point, but have you asked around where you can get this Ofada rice that is stone free? I think they are a lot cheaper.

Mama Akeem: Ofada rice is not in my calculations for Christmas, my thinking was on “normal rice” and not Ofada, whether stone free or not. This was also because of my Children anyway. Left to me and my husband, anything swallow will do,we are not sold on rice in any variety or form.

Mama Julie: Since this is for your Children, I will recommend Ofada, and not just ofada, but the one from the stable of BUSHLINK FOODS.

Mama Akeem: Bush what? Did you call it Bush? I am afraid o.

Mama Julie: I said Bushlink Foods. To my knowledge, they are the only company that sells Stone free Ofada Rice at an affordable price, their price is pocket friendly, and their product is fine. Patronising them too, means, encouraging our local economy to grow through your own and their own contributions to improvement of food security.

Mama Akeem: If you say so, I will try it for Christmas and New Year.

Mama Julie: You will, definitely, come back to thank me. They are the best in this business of Ofada, I assure you. Please, buy more than enough for the children, just in case you get tempted to take more than a portion while tasting.

Mama Akeem: Thank you, my sister, let me go and get it immediately, tomorrow is Christmas, I don’t need to waste time.
