In a move that could revolutionise the agricultural landscape of Niger State, Governor Mohammed Umaru-Bago has announced plans to construct a $2 million poultry farm in Bosso Local Government Area. This ambitious project is expected to create a ripple effect of economic growth, job creation, and food security, transforming the lives of thousands of people in the region.
The poultry farm, which aligns with the federal government’s livestock development initiative, will be a state-of-the-art facility designed to promote sustainable agricultural practices and improve the livelihoods of local farmers. According to Governor Umaru-Bago, the project will not only boost the state’s agricultural sector but also provide a platform for economic empowerment and job creation.
During a stakeholders’ engagement in Maikunkele, the LGA headquarters, Governor Umaru-Bago emphasized the importance of this project in driving economic growth and reducing poverty in the region. The deputy governor, Yakubu Garba, assured the people of Bosso LGA of the administration’s commitment to meeting their aspirations.
The project has also received a significant boost from a local representative, Mr. Kure, who pledged to support the government’s efforts with N1 billion, providing fertilizers and other farm inputs to farmers. This partnership is expected to further enhance the project’s impact and create a sustainable agricultural ecosystem in the region.
