WOMEN GROUP LAUNCHES FARMASSURE, DISTRIBUTES INPUTS TO RURAL FARMERS

In a bid to revolutionize agriculture in Nigeria, the Nigerian Women for Agriculture Progressive and Development Initiative (NWAPDI) has launched FarmAssure, a cutting-edge technology platform designed to enhance efficiency and productivity in farming.

According to Farmer Omolara Svensson, NWAPDI’s national coordinator, the organization is committed to empowering grassroots farmers with cutting-edge tools. “We can’t stay where we are and expect change to come. As the world evolves, we must evolve alongside it,” Svensson emphasized.

The technology is expected to have a significant impact on Nigerian agriculture, particularly for women and youth farmers. NWAPDI has already distributed agricultural inputs across Nigeria and remains focused on placing Nigerian agriculture on the global map through technology-driven solutions.

NWAPDI has also partnered with Norcom LLC to introduce advanced agricultural technology and equip Nigerian farmers with world-class digital skills. “Our partnership with NWAPDI is aimed at introducing advanced agricultural technology, ensuring Nigerian farmers compete globally in the digital age,” said Dion Croom, president of Norcom LLC.

Folashade Joseph, Managing Director of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC), urged farmers to take advantage of NAIC’s insurance packages to mitigate risks from climate-related disasters. “We do not want agricultural ventures to collapse due to natural disasters. While we cannot prevent climate change, we can ensure farmers receive timely compensation when losses occur, allowing them to continue farming,” she said.
