The federal government may release a million-dollar boost from the solid Mineral sector of the economy. Nigeria has an abundance of gold, baryte, zinc, iron ore, gypsum, tantalite, bitumen, and coal amongst others.
The partnership with Nigerian firm, UBACLE Group if successful, was announced by the Swedish Ambassador to Nigeria, Annika Hahn-Englund, on Saturday.
According to Hahn-Englund, “UBACLE Group is on the right path and we look forward to a partnership.” She applauded the company’s resilience and called on stakeholders in the energy sector to key into the company’s effort. She also promised to partner with the firm on solid minerals.
Responding to the hinted partnership, the Chief Executive Officer CEO, UBACLE, Mr. Uba Michael said the Ambassador’s visit was a morale booster that came at the right time. He said, “The Ambassador is someone I’ve become close to because I visited her earlier to inform her on what we are doing and she said her country was thinking in the same direction.
“As she stated, we are heavily in the drive for the adoption of renewable energy. We know the damage fossil fuel has caused, so renewable energy is the now and the future.”
However, Mr. Michael is willing to work with others in the sector to bring about the necessary development. He said, “In reiterating her call, we are asking stakeholders which include the federal and state governments to key into this in the form of investments and partnerships and it is another way of driving economic growth”.
