PLATEAU FARMERS WIN BIG AS GOVERNMENT SPLASHES THEM WITH $250,000 GRANTS, 20 TRACTORS

The Plateau Patriotic Front (PPF) has called on farmers in Plateau State to make the most of the $250,000 State Agricultural Initiatives Fund provided by the state government.  Mr. Mani Imman, National Coordinator of PPF, said, “We are thrilled with the Plateau Government’s efforts in the agricultural sector, each step taken brings the state closer to self-sufficiency in food production.”

Imman highlighted the significance of the 20 tractors inaugurated by Governor Caleb Mutfwang, saying, “The introduction of these 20 tractors will ease the burden on farmers and encourage young people to make a living in the sector.” He cautioned farmers against misusing the funds, emphasising that the grants aim to reduce poverty and increase food production. Imman commended the state government’s partnership with the World Bank to ensure sustainable food production.

On his part, Governor Mutfwang emphasised the state’s commitment to ensuring the funds and equipment are used judiciously to uplift the people. He urged beneficiaries to work together and make the most of the opportunity, saying, “This is not your share of the national cake. Don’t become the reason why another community will not make progress.” The state government’s efforts to boost agricultural production and reduce poverty are expected to have a positive impact on the lives of farmers and communities in Plateau State.
