The foundation said it hopes to raise funds for a local charity organisation that is making a positive impact on society. BATN Foundation said it will donate the sum of N1m to the local Charity. So, how will it get the NGOs to work with? The Foundation will rely on the judgement of individuals who are expected to nominate deserving charity organisations and local NGOs to participate in the challenge.

Odusanya said, “We are dedicated to empowering rural Nigeria and we recognise the crucial role NGOs play in achieving this goal. Through strategic partnerships, we aim to amplify our impact and support initiatives that directly address the needs for a sustainable future.”

By rallying support for local communities, the aim is to uplift communities and strengthen the network of organisations working towards a common goal of transforming and improving the well-being of rural communities. The conditions for qualification include registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission or other relevant agencies, a proven experience of working in areas such as poverty reduction/zero hunger, support for elderly persons, rural community service, sustainable development, and education.

Participating NGOs must not be affiliated with any public or government officials and should have a strong reputation for charitable work and must be without any history of negative publicity.

The method of selection for interested NGOs will involve a comprehensive review and evaluation process of their detailed proposals.

The submission of the proposal is expected to include a brief profile of the NGO, highlighting its key achievements, proof of registration with the CAC and a one-page document or a short video outlining how the NGO intends to use the grant funds from the BATN Foundation.

Shortlisted NGOs will be chosen for further consideration, while the finalists will undergo due diligence to verify their legal status, reputation, and alignment with the foundation’s values and performance goals.
