As palliative to mark the Easter celebrations, Chief Adedoyin Ibikunle-Eshanumi, founder and Executive Director of Doyin and Suzan Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has distributed food items to over 300 vulnerable widows in Kogi. The items were distributed to some rural communities in Isanlu, Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi.
Ibikunle-Eshanumi during the distribution of the foodstuffs said the initiative was aimed at reaching out to the less privileged people in the communities during the Easter celebration, said that the death and resurrection of Christ signified Gods love and sacrifice for mankind, stressing the need to extend the same love to the vulnerable in society at all times.
She said the NGO had been helping vulnerable women and widows through her monthly empowerment outreach to alleviate their suffering especially from the current economic hardships. The foundation also distributed foodstuff to over 350 indigent women in rural communities during 2023 Christmas celebrations.
The humanitarian gesture is part of our foundations vision to reach out to the less privileged and the vulnerable widows in order to alleviate their suffering in their time of need.
These humanitarian activities are being carried out in this area from time to time, and it will continue as a way of improving the wellbeing of the indigent in the society, she said.
She commended President Bola Tinubu for his efforts in stemming the tides of economic hardships in the country, urged the people to continue to support the President for a better Nigeria while also soliciting the support of corporate organisations and well meaning individuals for a better social welfare for the less privileged, especially in the rural areas.
Rhoda Adebayo, one of the beneficiaries, thanked the foundation for extending the love of Christ to widows during Easter celebrations and always.

The items distributed include Semo vita, rice, spaghetti, noodles, and seasonings.
