AGRICULTURAL TECHNOLOGY EXPO ATTRACTS 500 EXHIBITORS FROM 76 COUNTRIES

No fewer than 500 exhibitors are expected to participate in a Farm, Food and Allied Technologies (FARM TECH) Expo 2024. It is a three-day exposition said to be targeted at 500,000 participants drawn from 76 countries.

The expo is spearheaded by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, (ACCI). The president of ACCI, Emeka Obegolu, said this on Thursday at the launch of the inaugural Farm, Food, and Allied Technologies (FARMFATECH) Expo 2024.

Agrotech or Agricultural technology is the application of techniques in agriculture, horticulture, and aquaculture to improve yield, efficiency, and profitability.

The Expo, which is being done by ACCI in collaboration with Autodex Nigeria Limited and Afreximbank, seeks to revolutionise agricultural innovation and strengthen partnerships, particularly between Nigeria and China.

“This Expo is designed to foster international partnerships, facilitate knowledge exchange, and catalyse substantial business transactions that will drive growth within Nigeria’s agricultural sector.

“Here, we bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to explore transformative investment and partnership opportunities that promise to shape the future of agriculture in Nigeria and beyond,” Obegulu said.

This initiative is a confirmation of the commitment of the ACCI to support agricultural stakeholders, as the FARMFATECH Expo provides a unique platform to showcase the latest advancements in agro-mechanisation and food processing technologies.

The Abuja Chamber pledged innovative support to the agricultural sector, which remains a crucial contributor to Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

“ACCI underscores its goal to spotlight investment opportunities in the agro-allied sector, drive policy support for the industry, and promote initiatives that foster economic growth.

“Through policy advocacy, sustainability initiatives, and trade promotion, the Agriculture Trade Group would empower agricultural stakeholders, support research, education, and rural development”, said the chamber.
