The initiative was to change the face of Agricultural practice by the Federal government, under the Renewed Hope Agricultural Mechanisation programme in order to make farming modern and attractive to youths, but unfortunately, seven months after the launching,the tractors are sitting pretty well at the premises of National Agricultural Seeds Council (NASC) in Sheda, along the Abuja – Lokoja Express way,Abuja.
Now, that the rainy season is approaching, when another season of planting of crops will commence. The concern of many people is that though the government procured tractors reportedly to ease agriculture practice and enhance production, the implements are still being locked up somewhere, instead of being deployed to the farms. So they are asking to know why the Federal government appears to dilly -dalling in distributing the 2000 tractors that were launched with fanfare in June 2025.

Answer to this question, will inform the directions where the Renewed Hope Agricultural Mechanisation programme is headed in this year, and much premium is placed on the pledge to achieve food security in the short term.
