200 EMPOWERED BY REMI TINUBU’S RENEWED HOPE AGRICULTURAL SUPPORT PROGRAMME IN ANAMBRA STATE

Nigerian First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has empowered over 200 individuals in Anambra through her Renewed Hope Agricultural Support Programme. The initiative targets people across various age groups passionate about agro-businesses.The beneficiaries underwent a two-day hands-on training in areas like feed processing, drip irrigation installation, vegetable farming, and piggery. They received basic start-up tools and cash support to kick-start their agricultural endeavors.

The selection process was transparent and random, ensuring equal representation of women groups, youth organisations, and school clubs. Economic empowerment remains a core objective of the Renewed Hope Initiative, supporting President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms.

Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike, noted that the initiative will transform agriculture in the state, and beneficiaries will be monitored to ensure they utilize the empowerment tools effectively. Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs. Ify Obinabo, emphasised that the state government aims to teach people on how to make a direct impact on their lives through agriculture.

Some beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the empowerment tools, stating that they will greatly enhance their agricultural practices. The governor’s wife, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, distributed the empowerment items and provided cash support to the beneficiaries.
